I won’t even try to explain how, since many sages and visionaries have already done so, and much better than I ever could. Instead, I refer you to Jane Roberts’ Seth books (after decades, still in my opinion the most insightful and lucid explanations of metaphysical reality around), and to Eckhart Tolle’s most recent and profound book,
A New Earth.
However, I will share some brief thoughts on the subject that I wrote down in response to a blog entry that insisted, We create Nothing.
I agree that we create no thing, but I know from my and others’ experiences that we do create our own reality. There is no contradiction in this because quantum physics tells us that there is no thing out there, just possibilities. According to quantum physics and many philosophies, our reality is not made up of things that exist independently of us. It is made up of experiences. We experience possibilities, and every choice we make brings a possibility into manifestation as experience.
If one does not see this as supremely creative, then also consider the intricate and extensive web or pattern of manifestations that each person generates through their choices and observations. Every choice and action has not just one, but many consequences, most of which we probably remain ignorant of. No two webs of effect or consequence can ever be alike because we are ourselves creations of varied experiences, mental processes, attitudes, not to mention genetic and physiological influences.
So through our choices and actions, each one of us creates a new and unique pattern, and those who have the courage to tread outside the familiar to experience a life of wonder might just create new pathways, new possibilities of experience, thereby expanding our universe of potentiality even further. What can be more meaningful, and what can be more creative than creating our experience, personally and collectively?
Of course, one can choose to see the universe as wholly predetermined, not capable of growth or expansion, and our choices as fundamentally meaningless - no choice at all really. I do not live in that universe. I live in one where I have experienced in the most practical and tangible terms the results of even a small shift in attitude, and the effects of conscious and focused intention. If you think back on your own experience, and ask yourself, truthfully and with an open mind, where it came from, you can also recognise your creative power at work.
